Hello My name is Annette Robinson I am 46yrs old and I have been involved with the elderly since a very young age. My mother has always been in this field. She is a Life Enrichment Coordinator , And specialized in Alzheimer's. I have been right by her side all the years growing up. Every nursing home, Assisted Living place she worked at I was her volunteer. I have always loved helping people young, elderly or handicap. As I got older my mother opened her own Assisted living where I became a caregiver for her. The more hands on I got the more I knew it was what I needed to do. In 2001 I opened my own Personal Care Home and will continue to help and assist where needed. People ask me how I do it and how can you take losing so many that you grow to love. Yes it is hard to lose each and everyone as their time on earth comes to an end. I have to say they are family to me and it is my calling. This is what I'm here for and this is my purpose. No I don't have the college training that most have. But I don't need that to be a loving care giver. I have all the resources I need a phone call away. If someone has a need that I can not meet and needs a higher medical personnel they will be right over. I have had lots of hands on experience in the last 17yrs. I am the one that sits up all night long with my resident if they need me. I am their child that they can't remember the name to. I am the shoulder they cry on when they don't want to bother there children miles away. I am the one they wake up at midnight because they are hungry. I am the one that knows they haven't gone to the potty in three days and need a medication to help them along. My point is the things I am talking about here you can NOT get in a big facility. They simply can't meet your loved ones needs on a one on one level like this. I love what I do and this is why I do it.
